Bio
Tim
Tim is a Los Angeles-based cinematographer, photographer, multimedia whiz, and scientific imaging specialist. This fall, he will study cinematography at the American Film Institute Conservatory as a first year fellow. Previously, he studied biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins University ten years ago but spent the past decade building his photographic chops on the streets of NYC. When he first picked up a camera after college, he immediately fell in love and applied the analytic skills he had picked up to teaching himself the meat of the craft. Meticulous study of photography books, eccentric experimentation, and relentless street shooting soon transitioned to portraits, concerts, weddings, engagements, church events, and commercial work as people quickly noticed his knack for vividly colored and intricate compositions. Furthermore, in his former day job as an egghead scientist for the seven years, he developed a scientific understanding of imaging that fuels his innovative style.
Tim strives to push the bounds of the medium and welcomes requests for cinematography, portraiture, and event work.
Sarah
Ever since Sarah married Tim, she has lived and breathed the world of photography, developing a heart for capturing life on camera. She assists Tim on gigs and underneath his training, has started taking her own photos. With a background in counseling and education, and working closely with a wide range of people in health care and urban settings, she has a passion for catching life stories in a photojournalistic style. She also handles the administrative and operations side of the business. Otherwise, she can be found pursuing her passion for counseling, working with people who are chronically mentally ill and disabled, hunting for bargains, listening to pop music, and trying to convince Tim of the brilliance of cheesy romantic comedies.
